Ivo is now available as a connector for Claude for Legal, giving legal teams access to their contract data in Ivo directly from Claude. Teams can ask questions about their agreements, compare terms, retrieve extracted data with supporting quotes, and build renewal calendars—all without manually uploading any contracts.

What you can do with Ivo in Claude
Connecting Ivo and Claude gives legal teams another way to leverage their contract data within the workspaces they already use. With the Ivo connector, users can do the following in Claude:
- Get answers from their contracts. Ask questions about individual agreements or contracts across accessible Repository rooms, with supporting quotes.
- Compare terms across agreements. Find and examine contractual provisions and retrieve relevant extracted data.
- Build renewal calendars. Use the renewal-calendar skill to organize upcoming contract renewals.
- Create and populate AI fields. Use Ivo Assistant to define AI fields and extract missing field values in accessible Repository rooms.
Building workflows around your contract data
Claude for Legal offers ready-to-use artifacts that legal teams can adapt and share across the business. Connecting Ivo gives Claude access to the contract information needed to support the creation of workflows built around a team’s existing agreements, without having to feed that information into Claude separately.
For example, a legal team can use the renewal-calendar skill to organize all upcoming expirations into a single calendar based on a review of their entire portfolio. They can also perform complex tasks like querying their entire contract portfolio, surfacing strategic insights, and retrieving specific information needed to support other departments, all within their Claude workflows.
The connector is designed to retrieve information without modifying underlying contracts or existing field definitions. Existing answers are skipped, and contracts and field definitions are not edited or deleted.
Access and control
Ivo connects to Claude through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI applications to external tools and data.
Users need a paid Ivo account with Intelligence access, permission to the relevant contract rooms, and their workspace’s MCP URL and OAuth authentication. Queries and Ivo Assistant’s replies are saved as chat threads in the user’s Ivo workspace, identified by a chat ID.
As with any AI-generated output, legal teams should review results before relying on them in their work.
